Hi, my name is Melissa Hernandez and I am a junior at Holland High School. I am in Spanish V and I am going to talk to you about Jorge Ramos and the influence he has on people. He has made a big impact on the world for speaking up and not holding back what he has to say. 

Jorge Ramos was born on March 16, 1958 in Mexico City. He attended the University Iberoamericana in Mexico City where he majored in communications. Jorge earned a master's in international studies at the University of Miami in 2008 and that same year became a US citizen. He is a Mexican-American journalist and writer. He is the anchor of Univision News, Noticiero Univision since 1986, and is the host of two programs named Al Punto and América con Jorge Ramos. He covered five wars and has interviewed important people like Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Hugo Chavez, etc. He is definitely is against Trump (clip below). He has won eight Emmy awards, Mary Cabot Prize, and the Ruben Salazar Award by the National Council of La Raza for his positive interpretation of Latinos. The Commonwealth Club of California recognized him with the Distinguished Citizen Award for being one of the outstanding individuals who embody the American dream as an immigrant to the United States.

Ramos is one of the most respected journalists among the 50 million Hispanics in the U.S. He is father of two children, plays soccer every Saturday morning, and is considered one of the most eloquent, credible and powerful voices of Hispanic America. It contributes to many people and the world because he defends what he knows is best. 

Jorge Ramos nació el 16 de marzo de 1958 en la Ciudad de México. Asistió a la Universidad Iberoamericana en la Ciudad de México donde se especializó en comunicaciones. Jorge obtuvo una maestría en estudios internacionales en la Universidad de Miami en 2008 y ese mismo año debido a un ciudadano estadounidense. Él es un periodista y escritor mexicano-americano. El ancla del programa de Univision Noticias, Noticiero Univision desde 1986, es el anfitrión de dos programas nombrados Al Punto y América con Jorge Ramos. Cubrió 5 guerras y Ramos ha entrevistado a personas muy importantes como Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Hugo Chávez, etc. Definitivamente está en contra de Trump (clip abajo). Ha ganado 8 premios Emmy, el premio Cabot María, y el Premio Rubén Salazar por el Consejo Nacional de La Raza por su interpretación positiva de los latinos. La Commonwealth Club de California lo reconoció con el Premio Ciudadano Distinguido por ser uno de los individuos sobresalientes que encarnan el sueño americano como inmigrante a los Estados Unidos. 

Ramos es uno de los periodistas más respetados entre los 50 millones de hispanos en los EE.UU. Él es padre de dos hijos, juega fútbol todos los sábados por la mañana, y es considerado una de las voces más elocuentes, creíbles y poderosos de la América hispana. Contribuye a muchas personas y el mundo porque defiende a lo que él sabe que es mejor.
