Hello, my name is Joshua Garcia and I will be telling you about someone for Hispanic Heritage month.

Mario Alberto Dominguez Zarzar was born January 22, 1977. Mario is the lead singer of the Mexican band Camila. Mario Dominguez is from Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. Camila is very well known in Mexico of course, but they are also very well known here in the United States. Mario’s career helped another famous Mexican singer, Kalimba, produce his album Aerosoul and one of the songs on that album “No Me Quiero Enamorar” became a top ten hit in the United States & another song “Tocando Fondo” spent 18 weeks in the Billboard charts.

Camila started with Mario and Samuel “Samo” Parra, which he met during a song with another artist with the name Reyli Barba. Once Camila had Mario and Samo as the foundation of the group they began to practice with only just a piano. Later on they decided to add a guitar which led them to the third and final member of the group, Pablo Hurtado.

In 2006 Camila released their first album Todo Cambio which became very popular in Mexico and The United States.

El grupo Camila es muy reconocido en Mexico, igualmente en los Estados Unidos. Durante su carrera, Mario ha contribuido en producir discos para varios artistas, incluyendo a orto artista muy reconicodo en Mexico, Kalimba. De ese disco llamado ¨Aerosoul¨, la cancion ¨No Me Quiero Enamorar” se convirtio en un top ten hit de la lista de billboard. Otra cancion de ese disco, ¨Tocando Fondo¨ duro 18 meses en esa misma lista.

En sus inicios, Camila consistia de dos vocalistas; Mario Domm y Samuel ¨Samo¨ Parra. Los dos cantantes se conocieron en una sesion entre Mario y otra artista, Reyli Barba. Despues de constuir una relacion entro los dos, Mario y Samo formaron Camila, que en sus inicios solamente componian canciones con sus voces y un piano. Sintiendo que les faltaba algo a su sonido, llegaron a incluir el tercer miembro y gitarrista del grupo, Pablo Hurtado.

En 2006, su primer album, ¨Todo Cambio¨ llego a ser muy popular en Mexico y los Estados Unidos.
