Students of Holland High School will be bringing smiles to the faces of several kids this Christmas season. Since Dec. 1, HHS students have been donating toys for the annual U.S. Marines Corps Reserve "Toys for Tots" program. On Dec. 20, the HHS Rotary Interact organization helped count the donated toys. Over 260 toys were collected. This amount is more than 4 times as many toys donated the year before by HHS students. Retired U.S. Marine Corps Gy Sgt. Mark Petersen and his wife Michele, a U.S. Marine Corps Cpl, picked up the toys that will be distributed to economically disadvantaged children across West Michigan during the holiday season.
