Katie Bast, a 2012 Holland High graduate, was recently named a distinguished Fulbright award winner and will spend the 2016-2017 academic year in Macedonia.

Katie will serve as an English Teaching Assistant to students at the university level. As an English Major at North Park University in Chicago, Katie was named the Outstanding Junior in the School of Education and also won the English Department Academic Excellence Award as a Senior.

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program of the U.S. government. It was established in 1946 under legislation introduced by the late Senator William J. Fulbright of Arkansas.
